James Lippens is the founder of Mill Town Consulting and a seasoned fractional CFO who offers specialized consulting services in finance, accounting, and business efficiency. With over a decade of experience as a senior Business Analyst for a multinational FinTech firm, James has a proven track record in developing and implementing accounting, finance, and tax solutions for mid-sized businesses. He also played a key role in collaborating with non-profit industry groups, working alongside the IRS and state regulatory agencies to create standardized tax compliance reporting systems, including the development of W-2 and tax e-filing standards.

James earned both his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Science in Accounting/Finance from Eastern Michigan University. His entrepreneurial journey includes co-owning a Payroll Vault franchise for 10 years, where he assisted small businesses with payroll, tax compliance, HR administration, and hiring processes. In 2024, James transitioned fully into consulting, founding Mill Town Consulting to focus on helping businesses streamline operations, improve efficiency, and implement systems that drive growth and sustainability.

At Mill Town Consulting, James provides consultative finance and accounting services, focusing on optimizing business processes, automating payroll and tax systems, and enhancing HR operations to help clients remain competitive in today’s fast-paced market.

Outside of his professional endeavors, James enjoys mountain biking, powerlifting, playing blues and jazz guitar, and spending quality time with his family. He and his wife have been married for 20 years and have three children..
